What to Expect From SEASONALE®
Although taking SEASONALE® is a lot like taking a traditional birth control pill, the idea of an extended regimen is probably still new to you. Chances are, you’re wondering, “What will it be like?”
Get informed and learn what your periods will be like with SEASONALE® and what side effects some women experience.
What will your periods be like while taking SEASONALE®?
When you take SEASONALE®, you should expect to have an extended regimen of 4 scheduled periods. Your flow will most likely be about the same as with a traditional birth control pill—they shouldn’t be any longer or heavier.
If you miss a scheduled period while taking SEASONALE®, consider the possibility you may be pregnant and seek advice from your healthcare professional.
What you should know about bleeding/spotting?
During the first year of SEASONALE® you are more likely to have bleeding or spotting like a regular flow between your periods than if you were taking a traditional monthly birth control pill. Total number of bleeding days are similar to a traditional pill. This spotting or bleeding tends to decrease as you keep using SEASONALE®. Only 1 in 3 women who use SEASONALE® reported having 20 or more days a year of spotting or breakthrough bleeding.
Experiencing occasional spotting or breakthrough bleeding between your periods is normal with SEASONALE®. Don’t stop using SEASONALE® because of it. If the spotting continues for more than 7 days or if the bleeding is heavy, talk to your healthcare professional.
